Teaching is a kind of systematic and planned activity.Teachers and students need to participate in the activity.Teachers need to use certain educational technology and certain teaching methods to achieve the purpose of teaching.Then there must be English teaching,there must be English teaching methods.The teaching methods in a certain historical period must be adapted to the political,economic,cultural and social development of this period.But there is a big difference between the teaching methods designed by theorists and the methods used by front-line teachers.With the development of society,the teaching methods gradually show their own limitations.The teaching methods are too idealistic to take a variety of environmental factors on the teaching impact into account.In 2001,Kumaravadivelu--an American linguist put forward the concept of post-method pedagogy.Post-method pedagogy is not an alternative teaching method which solves specific problems.It is the inheritance of the previous teaching methods,and also beyond and development of it.And it is a set of dynamic teaching idea.It embodies the idea of "teacher empowerment",emphasizes the influence of politics,economy,culture and other factors on the teaching effect.This thesis is based on the national situation,teaching situation and learning situation of basic English teaching in China.It attempts to discuss the feasibility of applying post-method pedagogy to basic English teaching from the theoretical level from literature research method and comparative method.It aims to provide reference for the effective implementation of basic English teaching and curriculum reform,so that post-method pedagogy can guide the basic English teaching very well.Through analysis of theoretical and the current situation of basic English teaching,it can be concluded that post-method pedagogy in basic English teaching is the necessity of the reform of basic English course,is the objective requirement of basic English teaching environment,is the basic requirement of improving the professional development of teachers,is the realistic demand to realize the balanced development of basic education,is the inherent requirement of constructing the theoretical system of basic English.Theoretically,in terms of the teaching view,the relation between teacher and student view,curriculum view,post-method pedagogy is more feasible than the traditional teaching method,because post-method pedagogy adapts to the development of the times.In addition,post-method pedagogy provides theoretical guidance and intellectual support for the realization of the realistic feasibility.Therefore,the application of post-method pedagogy in basic English teaching has realistic and theoretical feasibility.
