Evaluation is an important link of English writing teaching.The way and result of writing evaluation have a direct impact on students' writing attitudes and writing motivation.Multiple evaluation highlights the diversification of evaluation subject.Both teachers and students should concern and participate in evaluation,including peer evaluation,self-evaluation and teacher evaluation,so as to help improve students' writing proficiency.The research,which is based on Constructivism Theory and Process Writing Theory,carries out the applied research of multiple evaluation for a semester.Three questions are mainly answered in the study:(1)What are students' attitudes towards multiple evaluation?(2)Can multiple evaluation cultivate students' cooperative awareness and writing strategies?(3)Can multiple evaluation improve students' writing grades?Based on the researches both at home and abroad on multiple evaluation,the study designs composition evaluation scale,self,peer and teacher evaluation sheets,making use of questionnaire,interview and experiment to answer the above three questions.The research subjects are 120 students of two classes in Grade Two in Baoji Chencang Senior High School.One is randomly treated as the experimental class and the other as the control class.The results of the pre-questionnaire indicate that students show low interest in writing.The results of the pre-test show that there is little significant difference between the two classes in students' writing proficiency.During the experiment,there is no difference in English teacher,teaching materials,course schedule and writing tasks of these two classes.The only difference is that the control class adopts the method of teacher evaluation,while the experimental class uses the multiple subject evaluation methods integrated with peer evaluation,self-evaluation and teacher evaluation.Multiple evaluation is applied in pre-writing,while-writing andpost-writing and specific writing evaluation case is presented.The pre-questionnaire and the post-questionnaire are analyzed to illustrate students' attitudes towards multiple evaluation.Besides,the analysis on both the comparison of writing grades of two writing tests and the students' interview shows the effects of multiple evaluation on students' writing.The results of the research show that students hold a positive attitude towards multiple evaluation.The application of multiple evaluation in the English writing teaching can help develop students' autonomous learning and cooperative awareness;it assists students in cultivating favorable writing strategies and improving their writing grades.To sum up,the application of multiple evaluation improves students' writing proficiency and conduce to cultivating students' cooperative awareness and developing their writing strategies.To some extent,multiple evaluation has a positive effect on English writing teaching of senior high school.
