Personalized learning is an important part in making educational policy and school transformation in the world.It is also the need of deepening the reform of basic education in China.The existing research on personalized learning mostly related to the theoretical research and scattered experiential description rather than actuality investigation.It is neither conducive to have a comprehensive insight into the status of personalized learning nor beneficial for follow-up study.Therefore,the research takes high level graders and their teachers of six ordinary primary schools as the research object to explore the status of their personalized learning as well as to put forward suggestions for improvement.In the process of research,many methods are adopted comprehensively such as questionnaire survey method and literature research method.The study found that the status of high-grade pupil's personalized learning is poor overall.The specific performances are as follow:Firstly,students do not feel good about the implementation of personalized learning with its five core elements.Secondly,personalized learning in the real world does not come close to matching the ideal one that in the minds of students.Thirdly,there still exists obvious gaps between urban and rural schools in carrying out personalized learning.At the same time,high-grade pupils' personalized learning encounters various difficulties,specifically manifested in the following points:1.There are deviations in teachers' understanding of personalized learning which always leading to their lack of enthusiasm and optimism.2.Students lose their dominant role in personalized learning.3.Schools are overall short of conditions to support the development of personalized learning.According to the above research,the following strategies are put forward to improve high grade pupil's personalized learning:1.Help teachers to deeply understand the connotation and value of personalized learning in order to guide their practice with correct idea;2.Focus on the transformation of teachers themselves so that to arouse teachers' sense of participation and strengthen their capacity.3.Respect students' dominant role and listen to their voice.To achieve students' expression and choice by giving them all kinds of rich and colorful learning activities.4.Create a rich learning environment to support students' personalized learning,including the flexible time,diverse space,and strong external factors.
