Researchi On The Land God Belief Behavior Of Rural Residents

The existence of the disease is a social fact.Treatment is the only way to restore health.However,when the rural residents fall ill,they not only use the medical treatment but also seek help from the ritual.Instead of medicine treatment,people will hold such as stealer,exorcism and other traditional ritual.This phenomenon is very common especially in the minority rural areas.With the development of modern society and the level of medicine progress,most people have begun to not believe in ghosts.They will choose medical treatment science actively.But once meet difficult miscellaneous diseases,rural residents still try to select the ritual treatment.This phenomenon is also quite common in the L village.In rural society,the treatment system is showing a secular and religious symbiosis pattern.Based on this consideration,this research attempts to take the L village in the middle of Jiangsu as a case.On the basis of field research,the author try to understand the underlying condition of ritual treatment,explain the situation and the course of action,exploration on rural residents' action logic of ritual healing.So we can have a more objective and rational understanding to ritual treatment.Based on the empirical investigation,the study draws the conclusions that:(1)Folk beliefs as the traditional cultural phenomenon of china's rural social are extremely common in folk society.The land god faith has the largest number of people in the village L.The land god faith gradually formed by daily use without self-knowledge,and nobody knows when it started,but it as a guardian protecting the land,blessing favorable weather and controlling underworld census get the villagers'awe and adoration.(2)The construction of the local belief space makes land god faith behavior to be normal.There are three kinds of ceremonies:burn bed material,make a wish and pay the wish.Burning bed material is a part of the memorial funeral,means list the deceased to land god and prepare to clear a path in underworld.Making a wish is the most obvious personal adorable behavior of land god faith.Villagers make a wish through the conversation with god and promise the reward,it's the highest frequency land god faith behavior of village L.Paying the wish is to reward the land god for helping realized the wish,it include reward in land god temple,repent in front of land god and conduct puja.Faith behaviors consist of the time and the place of behavior,people,language,action and props,these elements deepen the mystery and grave feeling,and achieve the goal of interaction between villager and land god.(3)Instead of format overnight,rural villager's land god faith behavior cause of individual or family crisis situation,residents belief habitus and so on.Crisises of Health,career,marriage and psychology of people or family are fuse and catalyst of rural villager's land god faith behavior;The psychological impact of good and evil will be reported,efficacious story.(4)The social crisis and social problems of social transformation and the risk society is to bring the deeper reasons why people seek the land God Faith.Due to the market economy under the background of social pressure increase,social transformation brings the risk coefficient and the life uncertainty increases,they are eager to find a belief space to release.In addition,the plight of the spiritual life of the rural residents and the lack of leisure activities in the modern society also make the existence of the land God belief in the rural society become more meaningful.Rural residents' zeal for folk beliefs also reflects the void state of people's mental life.Therefore,they actions should be treated rationally.Meanwhile,it is necessary to reinforce the construction new socialist countryside and rural civilization,accelerate the construction of socialist core value system.More importantly,in order to avoid the possible negative influences,the supervision of folk belief behavior is also essential.
