The Predicament And Outlet Of College Students' Sexual Values Education

Sex,sex behaviors,and sex relationships are three kind of social phenomenon including physical,psychological,and ethical factors.Sexual values of college students are including love relationships,the purpose of love,emotional expression,the meaning of love and subjective evaluation,etc.As part of the life values,the sexual values reflects the social maturity in handling the inner self and the ego contradiction,the individual and the others contradiction,the social and the nature contradiction and so on.Many college students are confused by these conflicts,so it's difficult for them to make right judgments in sexual behaviors and sexual relationships.Thus will cause many problems,such as sexual freedom of STDS rate raised,the fading of sexual responsibility consciousness causes damage to others and exchanges between the deterioration of interpersonal relationship,the utilitarian reduce,weaken or even violated lofty feeling and aesthetic feeling of sex,sex objects of arbitrary paid the love,sincerity,firm and enduring moral cost and so on.Sexual values and their corresponding behavior directly affect the physical and mental health of people,the personality perfection of people,the happiness of family and the stability and harmony of society.Therefore,college students' sexual values education are worthy of attention.However,because of the long history of sexual taboos tradition and social psychology,the education and its research has been in a marginalized position.Investigations show that college students in China lags far behind of sexual values education,characterized by lack of subjective consciousness,deficiency of teaching content and teaching methods,and there are some other troubles in sexual education:whether the college students need sexual education;what is the purpose of the sexual education;who and how to teach the sexual knowledge;how to solve the problems in education process and so on.In the name of respect and tolerance,it's irresponsible for educator to ignore the mistakes that the college students have in both sexual views and sexual behaviors.Theeducators should insist on the right and healthy sexual views and overcome the conservative,backward and narrow sexual opinions.Based on the scientific attitudes and practical works,the education departments should support and encourage the teachers in colleges and universities,especially the humanities and social science teachers,party organizations,counselors,psychologists have targeted add the sexual values education in college students' humanistic quality education,the ideological and political education,and the content of the daily management and consulting services.Adhere to combine the classroom teaching,campus culture and social practice education forces,insist on the combination of education and self-education,take temporary solution(problem oriented)and take a permanent cure literacy(civilization),pay attention to both positive education and negative warning,and promote rational education and emotional education.Then make full use of different methods,like taking a seminar,literature,art appreciation,cases discussion,value analysis,comparison,speeches and debating,drama and so on to add the sexual values into the education system of political and ideological education.The liberation of thought,renew ideas,scientific attitudes,targeted and specific education,reasonable persuasion,and the long-term mechanism of work,are the basic safeguards of effective education in college students' sexual values.
