Learning Progressions is a hot topic in the research of international science education in recent years.It is more than ten years since the conception was proposed for the first time and the research focus gradually shifted from theory to practice.Based on the study of Learning Progressions,American science education has introduced the New Science Curriculum Standard in 2013.In China,many experts and scholars research the conception of Learning Progressions in their respective disciplines.There are more and more research achievements in physics,which have been reflected in various themes and dimensions but less in photology,especially in the research of test for supporting the theory of Learning Progressions.For the purpose,the author chose the theme of "sound and light and the application " from science in the primary school and physics subject in the middle school.Through the analysis of Curriculum Standard between China and USA,the textbook between two different versions,the thesis constructs the Learning Progressions framework that covers three dimensions,which include “sound and mechanical wave”,“light and electromagnetic wave” and “application of sound and optics”.The framework faces to K-1 to K-12 and also contains the division of progressions level and learning performance in every grade.To develop the test of “sound and light and their application” by basis of the framework,194 students have taken the test,who all came from the schools of Linfen city in Shanxi province.The first result is regarded as the foundation to revise the second test.The research is based on two problems that are the consistency between the layout design of textbook and students' cognitive development and completeness of the test.It shows that the arrangement of primary science textbook and secondary school physical textbook basically follows the pattern of cognitive development,but sectional details must be adjusted.In addition,the test can be used to test the formation of conception by teacher and can be used to develop the Learning Progression by researcher.What's more,the test can be constantly modified and improved in the process of testing.
