The quality of teaching is the key to improve the quality of higher education.Teaching quality assessment plays a vital role in talent.British higher education which has a long history,committed to assess education teaching quality and teaching standards and then forming a remarkable teaching quality assurance system.Through reviewing literature on teaching quality assessment about subject,system,inspiration and impact assessment factors and other aspects,we give more systematic introduction to the UK higher education quality assessment and clarified the course and experience of teaching quality assessment in the UK higher education.This paper define the concepts of Britain,universities,teaching quality assessment and other related concepts,then explain the teaching quality assessment theory and total teaching quality management theories,including the meaning of theory and a variety of functions.The statements of the British higher education quality assessment establishment-subject review(Teaching Quality Assessment)and the latest developments-QAA institutional audit was given later,including the the purpose of assessment,criteria,evaluation procedures.Finally,summed up the experience of British teaching quality assessment and analyzed the questions of its implementation,then reviewed the situation of our teaching quality assessment including the experience and the questions of its implementation,and provide reference points for our measures to improve teaching quality assessment system.According to the experience of teaching quality assessment in UK,we proposed processcontrol of teaching quality,comprehensive control and coordinate various factors,and attainedtotal teaching quality management;emphasized the dominant position of self-restraint institutions and the use of evaluation results,attended assessment about assessment,improved evaluation system,and tended to quality improvement.Our teaching quality assessment which began with the late start and unscientific system assessment procedures was questioned by society.Therefore,we should study teaching quality assessment.
