Quality Assessment Study Of University Institutional Repository Based On User Perception

With the development of the open access movement, various universities are seeking to build institutional repository(referred to as IR). In this paper,we studied the quality assessment of university IR,aimed to explore the uniqueness of quality assessment of university IR, and develop quality assessment scale and indicator system to help managers and users understand, judgment, and control the quality of IR; By the empirical analysis,we verified the feasibility and value of the indicator system.At the same time,we analysed the factors witch influence the quality assessment of IR and explored the relationship between them.Based on user perception,we conducted user interviews, literature research and survey,get the original,the primary and the final assessment scale.According to the final assessment scale,we constructed indicator system by using AHP. And by using the Delphi method,we obtained the right of each indicator.The indicator system contains five dimensions,that quality of system interface, quality of system features,quality of information content,quality of information organization,quality of information services.Then, through empirical analysis,we evaluated the quality of university IR,and verified the feasibility and value of the indicator system, and analysed the relationship between influence factors and quality assessment. The results showed that demographic variables factors(including gender,education background, profession,job title,and income), network dependence factors, network experience factors(including years of using network,number of participation in online activities,and interactions),network attainment factors(including awareness of using IR, cognition of IR), and academic factors have significant impacts on the quality assessment of university IR.Finally, according to research findings, we discussed methods to improve the quality of university IR. At the same time, we explored the innovations and shortcomings of this study, as the reference for subsequent studies.
