Research On The Present Situation And Promotion Of Counselors' Developmental Psychological Counseling Ability

The college counselors are the backbone of the ideological and political education of college students. With the social developing, the mental health education of college students has gradually penetrated into the job responsibilities of the college counselors. Especially the developmental psychological counseling works have put forward new and higher requests. Chinese psychological counseling started later than other countries, so the counselors, psychological counseling ability is not in the same level,most of them haven't been systematically psychological training. College students growing mental health needs and college counselors' developmental psychological counseling ability are not in balance. Therefore, it is imperative to improve the counselors' developmental counseling ability and promote the efficient of psychological counseling work in colleges, in order to adapt to the continuous development of higher education.This paper investigates the background and meaning of counselors'developmental psychological counseling ability. This paper investigates the counselors of Southwest Jiaotong University and knows the current situation of psychological counseling ability according to "The questionnaire of College Counselors'Developmental Counseling Ability". Use SPSS 22.0 analysis the statistics,the results show:(1) On the one hand, on the whole, counselors have a certain degree of developmental psychological counseling ability, mainly reflected in dealing with students interpersonal and love problems, the ability of college students' adjustment disorder, and consulting knowledge and skills--three aspects. On the other hand, the ability of managing students' emotional management, self-awareness and counselor's self-adjustment is not so good, these abilities needs to be further improved.(2) Some dimensions of counselors' developmental psychological counseling ability exist differences on of gender, age, length of service, education, professional and whether to participate in training or obtain a psychological counselor qualification cetrtificates. But only age and length of service, and whether to participate in psychological training have significant differences.Based on the survey results, the author discuss how to improve college counselors' development counseling ability and puts forward 7 suggestions.The innovation of this thesis lies in the research field and the particularity of the research object. First, the author defines the concept of developmental psychological counseling ability,and the investigation fill the gaps of research in this field. Second,few researchers study the ability of counselors' developmental psychological counseling.
