?Secondary vocational school English teaching syllabus?and ?English curriculum standards?has put forward clear guiding ideology in English teaching assessment of secondary vocational school.But in the actual teaching process,the teaching assessment can not be implemented well,and it has little effect on English teaching.Through understanding the current situation of English teaching assessment of five secondary vocational schools in Taiyuan,the author found out the problem,and then discussed how to use the theory of English teaching assessment properly in the teaching work from the perspective of the educational administration,try to realize the true value of teaching assessment in English teaching.This paper selected five secondary vocational schools in Taiyuan as the research object,the author made questionnaires and interviews of teachers and students of the five schools from the aspects of the in-class teaching assessment ? the homework and activity assessment and the examination assessment,deeply understood the current situation of English teaching assessment in vocational schools in Taiyuan city,results showed that the English teaching assessment had the following problems: the main body was ignored for undue reliance on others' assessment in contrast with insufficient self-assessment;the assessment was weakened for shortage of response and motivation;the assessment was hampered for unbalanced attention to the form tilted against the contents.On this basis,the author explained the causes of this: the influence of the traditional ways of teaching assessment;the influence of the views of teachers and students;the influence of decisions made by a school.In the end,the author put forward the following improvement strategy: self-assessment and others' assessment to be combined to project the main body of teaching assessment;motivation and response to be joined to release the full force of teaching assessment;form and contents to enjoy equal emphasis to strengthen teaching assessment.The purpose of this paper is to provide methods for the implementation of English teaching assessment in secondary vocational schools and to realize the development of teachers and students.
