Study On The Model Of Financial Support For Education Research Of Institute Of Education Science

Institute of Education Science(IES)is a national education policy research institution,which is established by the US federal government and affiliated with the US Department of Education.IES administers education research institutes in the US by providing grants,in order to improve the rigor of educational research,support evidence-based education experiments,and provide information for educational practice aimed at improving students' academic performance.IES is consists of four centers,which are the National Center for Education Research,(NCER),the National Center for Education Statistics,(NCES),the National Center for Education Evaluation and Regional Assistance,(NCEE),and the National Center for Special Education Research,(NCSER).Each center has its own duty,and the service for IES together.The core aim of IES is to improve students' academic achievements,increase government's accountability,and strengthen the control of federal government in education.IES does study on the education policy mainly;send study information to the public to help the public know more about basic knowledge in education.The idea of funding activity in IES has been influenced by the pragmatism,the need of government,and the accountability system.So IES has formed the idea that to guide education research be more rigorous,be contacted with reality,and supervise the dissemination of education.IES does education research fund by grants,contracts,and making agreements.NCER and NCSER fund research projects by grants mainly,while NCES and NCEE fund research agencies by contracts and making agreements.The mode of the financial support system of IES has achieved good effects.It has altered education research to evidence-based,guided education research to pay more attention to education practice,and changed education research into multidisciplinary integration.In a word,policy making in the US in becoming more and more scientific and democratic with the help of IES.China's education science research and management agencies should use their own advantages,use financialsupport to guide China's educational science research focus more on educational practice,increase the usage of evidence-based experiments in the field of education research,collect the relevant data,spread the results,and update the information to the public timely.
