Chinese citizen's research report of scientific literacy(2015 ~ 2016)showed that Chinese scientific quality of citizens ratio had reached to 6.20%,but the United States in 2001 had reached to 17%.This gap has become an important factor affecting Chinese comprehensive competitiveness.In May 2016,President Xi delivered an important speech at the Ninth National Congress of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology.He pointed out that technological innovation and scientific popularization were the two wings to realize innovation and development,and that scientific popularization should be placed at the same place as technological innovation.It shows the extreme importance and urgency of scientific popularization.Primary school students,as a minor group,are the future of the country's builders,thus should belong to the main groups of scientific popularization.Children's science books are scientific and interesting.Parents and schools can effectively combine them to their primary science education to improve the scientific literacy of pupils.That will effectively improve scientific literacy of primary school students.On the point of the current reading online sales,the parents and the teachers do not pay enough attention to the popular science books.Even if some parents,teachers have realized buying science popularization tools for their children or students,but the content is unpredictable,the educational value of the books doubts,so that those science books of high quality cannot be taken seriously.In order to play the educational value of the books,it is necessary to probe the value of the scientific education to the students by studying children's popular science books.Through the collection of literature,the researches of “children's popular science books” merely lead to their own characteristics and the value of the books.It is helpful to guide the benign development of the books and to exert the value of science education,which attracts the attention of parents and teachers.And it is also helpful to explore the educational value of popular science books in the market and to explore the degree of integration with the school education.This paper included several main parts:(1)This part summarized the research background of the paper and put forward the argument of this research.Then summarized the current research situation at home and abroad,then made a certain research review and defines the important concept.Finally,it introduced the purpose and significance of this paper and told the ideas and the main methods.(2)This part analyzed the children's popular science content.First,it selected the sample quantity of the popular science books,then classified them according to the primary school science curriculum standard,and compared the sample with the “standard” course goal.From scientific knowledge,scientific inquiry,scientific attitude and environment aspects,this part argued the contents of children's science books.(3)This part analyzed the value of science education of children's popular science books.It proved that the readers had improved the scientific literacy by investigating the online readers' comments.And on the basis,this part analyzed the contents of the samples to inference the value of specific science education for primary school students.(4)This part pointed out the problems of children's popular science books in the market and put forward some countermeasures to solve these problems.(5)In order to guide parents and teachers better to select the appropriate excellent science books,this part selected some well-known children's popular science books and awards for them.
