Students' academic achievements are affected by lots of factors,such as personal,family,school and social factors.The family plays a very important role in the formation of students' unique personality and the cultivation of good learning habits as the first environment and the earliest and most important place for children to grow up.Therefore The influence of family socioeconomic status on students' academic achievements has been paid much attention.In this study we conducted an investigation on the influence of family socioeconomic status on students' academic achievements by means of selecting Zepu County,Kashi City,Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China as the basic research site from where a certain amount of middle and High school students were selected as the research objects.The methods of this research were mainly used with the questionnaire survey and the necessary character interviews,combination of qualitative and quantitative research.The results of the survey data were analyzed with qualitative research methods and combined with literature research to construct the theoretical framework of this study.Then the quantitative research methods were used to make the comprehensive analysis.By means of correlation analysis,cross-over analysis and regression analysis the large scale data processing was conducted for analyzing the influence of different family background variables on children's academic achievements.Regression model was used to present the contribution of family background variables to the academic achievements of children,and then scientifically and reasonably evaluate the contribution of educational level in the research area.Under the background of the "one fee system" and the precise poverty alleviation,the influence of family socioeconomic status on academic achievements was deeply analyzed to help to eliminate the inequality and imbalance in the local education,finally to realize educational equity.The research results showed that the influence of family socioeconomic status on students' academic performance was significantly positive correlation,andit was found that the contribution of family background variables to academic achievement was different in the comparison of urban and rural areas.First,there was a positive correlation between parents' educational level and their children's academic achievements.The higher the educational level of parents,the better their children's academic achievements.At the same time,the parents' educational level also affected the parents' expectation of their children's education.The parents with higher education level had higher expectations for their children's education.Highly educated parents could choose to communicate with their children in the same language mode,to enhance the performance of their children in school,so as to promote their children's academic achievements.Second,parents' occupational prestige and class background were important factors that affected their children's academic achievements.The higher the professional reputation of parents,the better their children's academic achievements,particularly much better children's academic achievements of the parents working precision technology field.Parents' occupational prestige also determined the way of family education.A relaxed familyatmosphere and close parent-child relationships cold help children to get good academic achievements.Third,the influence of family economic income on their children's academic achievement was low.Data analysis showed no correlation between family income and the children's academic achievements,while the family residence was related to the children's academic achievements.The reason is that the survey area is an underdeveloped area where the residents' income level was generally low.The education policy of "one fee system" weakened the influence of family economic income on the children's academic achievements.On the other hand,The investigation with questionnaire alone might not be able to objectively present a family's true economic income.Fourth,the micro factors in family socioeconomic status were also an important variable influence on the children's academic achievements.The micro factors of family socioeconomic status have significant effect on their children's academic achievements.At the same time,the students' academic level is different in the urban and rural areas and class background.In terms of family structure,the children's academic achievements of the family with one child were the highest of all.The more abundant the original resources of the family,the higher the academic achievement of the students.Comparative analysis between urban and rural areas,the students' academic level in urban was significantly better than that in rural.The economic resources of the family in urban areas could provide more education opportunities for their children.The economic resources could be transformed into a good education.Thoughts on how to promote the academic achievement in the research area:First,to balance the educational resources in urban and rural areas.Adequate supply of funds is the basis for ensuring good education.It was a long history of the problem that the imbalance of the education funds between urban and rural and the shortage of education funds in rural areas lead to the low quality of rural teaching.There were insufficient funds for education development,unreasonable investment structure and excessive investment gap between urban and rural areas in the survey area.Therefore,with the good opportunity of education precise poverty alleviation,the priority allocation system is established for schools in poor areas,the financial funds are tilted to poor schools in order to narrow the gap between urban and rural areas,finally to improve the level of education,educational hardware facilities and excellent teachers in poor areas.Second,favorable policies can promote equal access to education.The influence of class background on the generation of education is unfair,but each individual can not be separated from the influence of family factors by theirselves.Therefore,the state and the government should take effective measures to balance the gap between regions to ensure the right to education for the children of the poor.Third,social stability is the premise of education development.Education is a great balance of the whole society.It can reduce social inequality and promote the improvement and consolidation of benign social structure.However,education can play its role only in a stable social environment.
