A Study On Junior Middle School Students' Meaningful Learning Of English Vocabulary

This study firstly make a summary of the research status on the application of meaningful learning theory in vocabulary learning at home and abroad.Then work out the questionnaire of English Vocabulary Learning Strategies of junior high school students.And do the item analysis,exploratory factor analysis,reliability and validity testing for the questionnaire After that,the questionnaires were distributed to 400 junior high school students in Kunming,To investigate the use of English Vocabulary Learning Strategies,analyze the current situation of junior middle school students' vocabulary learning strategies and some existing problems and to explore whether the junior high school students do meaningful learning or not in their study.Next,do the training research.The experimental group,the control group and the excellent group of three samples were selected for a period of ten weeks of training.Before the training,the three groups were tested and after training,and the three groups were tested.SPASS software was used to analyze the data before and after the test.The scores of the three groups were tested.To Try to verify the following assumption:Vocabulary meaningful learning can improve students' interest in English learning to a certain extent.It can greatly enhance their vocabulary memory ability and enlarge their vocabulary,can optimize the junior middle school students learning strategies and improve the application ability of English words.Results:(1)The questionnaire on the use of English vocabulary learning strategies for junior high school students is made up of a total of 35 questions.The questionnaire adopts the method of "5 points",the internal consistency reliability is 0.823,and the structure is also very satisfactory.(2)The vocabulary test before and after the measurement volume average discrimination index were between 0.34-0.47 and 0.35-0.42,achieve good level.The results of reliability analysis showed that the test-retest reliability was 0.86 and 0.81,respectively,and were significantly higher at the level of 0.01.The fitting index andthe fitting index of the before and after the test volume are all higher than 0.9,which has a good structural limit.The correlation coefficient of each item was significant,and the Person value was greater than 0.4,indicating that the validity of the two papers was higher.(3)From the perspective of vocabulary learning,most junior high school students are willing to accept and use the idea of repeated memory.On vocabulary learning strategies,Junior high school students are not good at using vocabulary learning strategies.They lack of awareness of the use of Metacognitive Strategies and hardly ever use in in study.n the survey,it is found that junior high school students are not aware of the meaningful learning of vocabulary.(4)There is no difference in the use of vocabulary learning strategies among junior high school students of different genders.(5)There are differences in the use of vocabulary learning strategies among junior high school students of different grades.(6)The concept of vocabulary is consistent with the use of vocabulary strategies.The survey found that junior high school students will be more likely to use the corresponding learning strategies.(7)Based on the experimental results before and after the test data analysis,vocabulary ability of the experimental group and the control group had no significant difference in pre-test,but in post test they have significant difference,the experimental group and the elite group in the post test had no significant difference.Conclusion:(1)The questionnaire on the use of English vocabulary learning strategies for junior middle school students has been initially completed(2)Each item of the test volume has reached the requirements of the test.(3)Junior high school students should pay attention to the use of learning strategies in vocabulary learning(4)Vocabulary meaningful learning can promote the vocabulary learning and application ability of junior high school students to a certain extent,it can effectively enhance the students' interest in learning,enlarge their vocabulary and improve English learning ability,can effectively help students learn vocabulary.
