The Impact Of Exchange Rates And Export Quality On Enterprise Wage

For a long time,the healthy development of the labor market is of great significance to China.As an important economic indicator,wage may affect the employment stability.For export enterprises,the RMB exchange rate changes will affect the operation of enterprises,and then the employees' wage and employment stability will be affected.With the internationalization of RMB continuing to accelerate,the RMB exchange rate fluctuations become more frequent,export enterprises are facing greater foreign exchange risk.In addition,with the continuous deepening of the research on product quality in recent years,the literature shows that product quality is an important factor that can not be ignored in the import and export activities.The literature shows that there is a strong correlation between product quality and exchange rate pass-through.The enterprises with different quality of export products may adjust the wages of enterprises differently in the face of exchange rate fluctuations,which will affect the stability of employment in varying degrees.Therefore,in the context of frequent fluctuations in the RMB exchange rate and the continuous upgrading of the quality of export products,it is necessary to study on the basis of Enterprise Perspective:(1)Whether the RMB exchange rate will have an impact on wage;(2)Is there any difference in the impact because of the difference of products quality.The above research has certain practical significance to the Chinese export enterprises,the labor market dynamic adjustment and the macroscopic policy formulation.Firstly,this paper introduced the research background summarized the related literature domestically and abroad,and established a further research direction based on the research of predecessors.Then,this paper use mathematical formula to illustrate that the RMB exchange rate can affect the wage of Chinese enterprises through two channels,namely,export benefit channel,the cost of import channel.In addition,the formula point out the importance of product quality.After constructing the empirical model according to theoretical model,next,Next,this paper makes an empirical analysis of the impact of exchange rate and product quality on the wage of enterprises by using the industrial enterprise database,customs database and relevant exchange rate data from 2000 to 2006,to evaluate the impact of the RMB exchange rate and product quality on the wage level of enterprises empirically,and then came to the conclusions :(1)The rise of the export exchange rate of enterprises will significantly reduce the wage level of enterprises,the import of intermediate goods exchange rate will significantly increase the level of wages;(2)The higher the export quality,the lower the impact of the export exchange rate fluctuations on the wage of enterprises,the impact of the export exchange rate fluctuations on wages will be weakened.Moreover,the further research is made on the basic of heterogeneity.Based on the above conclusions,finally,this paper put forward some policy suggestions.
