In the era of knowledge economy,higher education has played an important role in cultivating talents.However,there are some problems in China’s higher education,so the call for higher education reform is growing.The basis of reform is to have a more clear understanding of the students,learning situation research is essential.Heilongjiang Province belongs to the less developed areas of education,the study is helpful to understand the student’s current study status,find some problems existing in the management of colleges,and provide important reference data for local educators to improve the quality of education.It is of great practical significance.This study attempts to understand the learning situation of college students in Heilongjiang province,find some problems and puts forward some suggestions on this basis.This study mainly adopts quantitative method.A total of 3871 valid questionnaires were collected from the five provincial universities.The characteristics of college students’ learning status are summarized by descriptive analysis and clustering analysis.Using correlation analysis to explore the influence of students’ personality characteristics,professional characteristics,family background and study style characteristics on students’ learning status.The paper draws the following conclusions: In the performance of the learning situation,the students in the five provincial institutions are better overall.Students’ dependence on teachers is strong,but their independent learning ability is poor.There are significant differences in students learning situation between different institutions.The better the learning characteristics,the better the learning status.There are significant differences in the learning situation of students in different degree of parental education.The better the students’ professional cognition,the better the learning status.The personality traits also have certain influence on the learning situation.There exist some problems in Provincial colleges and universities.Study ethos is poorer three colleges and universities.Science and engineering institutions professional education work is poor,learning atmosphere is not strong enough.Based on the above problems,this paper mainly puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions from the school level.The school should construct the student-centered educational environment,paying attention to the role of College Students’ peer group in order to create a good learning atmosphere and improve students’ professional cognition.
