Athletics is an immemorial sports item all around the world.As the cornerstone of other sports,athletics reaped a good reputation as “the mother of sports”.With the vigorous development of the sport,the people have many sports events and style to choose.Athletics is one of the compulsory courses physical education and health for the primary school,which contained the basic motor skills of walking,running,jumping and casting.At school,students join in athletics seem to be on the decrease.The reason is various,in the first place,the form of athletics is single mode.Then the atmosphere of the athletics is sterile.Lastly,we always pay more attention to motor skills training than the cultivation of interest.The international association of athletics federations(IAAF)exerted the “international athletics of the juvenile pleasure athletics project” to promote the role of athletics in physical and mental development of the students.Compared to traditional athletics,the new form of athletics has many recreational which contribute to enhancing students' sports interest in athletics.Through group competition,students can help each other and cultivate students' ability of working in a team,thus to achieve the goal of comprehensive physical and mental development.Aim: In this paper,we want to investigate the effect of juvenile pleasure athletics project to improve primary scholar motor skills and underlying mechanism in Guangzhou.This may provide a theoretical basis and reference data for juvenile pleasure athletics further study.We chose the 6 classes in 3 schools in Guangzhou City,a total of 234 students for the study,for a period of 16 weeks of children's fun track and field sports teaching.The6 classes of 3 schools contain: Class two Grade two and Class five Grade two in the QiaoLe primary school of Tianhe district;Class one Grade two and Class three Grade two in the WenDeLu primary school of YueXiu district;Class six Grade two and Class eight Grade two in Huaqiao primary school of LiWan district,Guangzhou city.As part of the experiment,the students were randomly divided into two groups: control group(n=116,which include two(2),two(1),two(6)Class)and the rest of Classes as experimental group(n =118).We used document-based research and the questionnaire method collect relevant data,we also used experimental teaching method,mathematical statistics and logical analysis method to analyze,generalization and summarization data.1.Body shape: After 16 weeks of the experiment,there was not any change in body shape included body height and body weight among control and experimental group.The reason is that the primary scholar is in the normal growing development stage and teaching experiment time is short.Thus,juvenile pleasure athletics make no difference in body height and body weight.2.Physical fitness: Compare to controls,there were significant group effects(p<0.05)on 50-metre dash,standing long jump,throwing sandbags(250g),50 meters *8 round-trip run,rope skipping in 1min,cross jump,and anteversion on seat.These data demonstrated that the effect of the juvenile pleasure athletics is more significant in promoting the students' speed,strength,endurance,sensitivity and flexibility.3.Fundamental motor skills: In fundamental motor skills,compared to control group,experimental group students showed a preferable increase in 50-metre dash,rope skipping in 1min and throwing sandbags(250g).These results strongly suggest that juvenile pleasure athletics efficiently increase students' basic motor skills.4.Learning interest: Compared with the traditional sports class,education of juvenile pleasure athletics project could motivate students' learning interest,enthusiasm and enterprising spirit in athletics items.
