A Survey Of College Students' Individualism—collectivist Tendency,National Identity And National Pride

What is the status quo of college students who are the future of the country,the hope of the nation,the college students in the period of social transformation,their individualism-collectivism,national identity and national pride? What is the main reason for this situation?What measures should be taken to promote social mainstream values,improve the degree of national identity and national pride? These are related to the future of the country,the future of the nation,the urgent need for in-depth discussion.In view of this,this study takes 2275 college students from all over the country as the research object,and adopts the psychological test method to examine the overall situation,differences and the relationship between the individualism-collectivism,national identity and national pride,and analyzes the mediating effect of national identity.The results showed that:1.In the aspect of individualism-collectivism tendency,the collectivism tendency of college students(including horizontal collectivism and vertical collectivism),the level in dividualism is stronger,both are higher than the theoretical average,and among them the college students ' horizontal collectivism inclination is the strongest,ranked first;the tendency of college students ' vertical individualism is relatively weak,ranked last.College students in the individualism-collectivism,there are some significant differences in gender differences,grade differences,source differences and whether there are differences in the experience of going abroad.2.In the aspect of national identity,the overall identity of college students have a higher degree,significantly higher than the theoretical mean;specifically,college students in the negative emotional evaluation,positive emotional evaluation,self-classification,mutual beliefs,public self-esteem national identity.And the students in the negative emotional evaluation of the national identity of the highest degree,ranked first;However,the degree of national identity of the importance of self-concept in college students is relatively low,which is significantly lower than the theoretical mean,ranked last.College students in the national identity,there are some significant differences in gender differences,grade differences,professional differences,source differences and whether there are differences in experience abroad.3.In the aspect of national pride,the overall domain-specific national pride of college students is strong,significantly higher than the theoretical average;specifically,the domain-specific national pride of the nine areas of college students in China's history,politicalinfluence,military strength,sports achievement,economic achievement,literature and artistic achievement,science and technology achievement,democratic policy,social security system are strong,all significantly higher than the theoretical average,and the college students in the history of China's domain-specific of national pride is relatively strong,ranked first;but college students in China on the social groups of fair and equitable treatment of specific areas of national pride is relatively weak,ranked last.In addition,college students have a strong overall general national pride,significantly higher than the theoretical average.Students in the "I would rather be a Chinese citizen do not want to be other national citizens","in general,China is better than most other countries," the general national pride are strong,were significantly higher than the theoretical average,And among the students in the "I would rather do Chinese citizens do not want to do other national citizens" aspects of the general national pride is relatively strong,ranked first;But the students in the "if other countries can also be the same as the Chinese people then the world will become better","even if the country made a mistake as a Chinese or to support their own country","I am present in China today Some problems are ashamed " aspects of the general national pride are weak,were significantly lower than the theoretical mean,And the general national pride of college students in "I am ashamed of some of the problems that exist in China today" is relatively weak and ranked last.College students in the overall domain-specific national pride,the overall general national pride,there are some significant gender differences,grade differences,professional differences,source differences and whether there are differences in experience abroad.4.In addition to national identity that vertical individualism tends to not play a mediating role in the prediction of domain-specific and general national pride,national identity plays a intermediary role in other individualist-collectivist tendencies(including horizontal collective ism,vertical collectivism and horizontal individualism)in predicting specific-domain and general national pride,that is,collectivism(including horizontal collectivism and vertical collectivism)and horizontal individualism tend to indirectly predict national pride through national identity(including specific-domain and general national pride);In addition,there are other intermediary variables between horizontal collectivism and general national pride,in addition to national identity,between the level of individualism and the specific-domain natio nal pride,which requires further research to confirm.Finally,according to the above research results,this paper analyzes the causes of individualism-collectivism tendency,national identity and state pride of college students,and puts forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions,so as to cultivate college students' correct value tendency,improve national identity,Pride,to promote its comprehensive development,to achieve the Chinese dream to provide theoretical basis and practical guidance.
