National science curriculum standards play an important role in guiding science education reform and practice,the conceptions of the nature of science(NOS)and strategies of teaching NOS in the science curriculum standards can influence teachers' conceptions of NOS and ways to teach science.Therefore,it is of great research value and practical significance to study the conceptions of the nature of science,the science education content and its implementation strategies advocated by the new generation science curriculum standards between China and the United States.On the basis of combing the relevant research results,this paper puts forward the framework of comparative study on the conceptions of NOS and its educational strategies,and takes life science as an example to systematically compare and analyze the conceptions of NOS and strategies of teaching in Chinese and American science curriculum standards,and also puts forward some concrete suggestions on strengthening the science essence education in our science curriculum standard.This article includes the following five chapters:The first chapter focuses on the reasons for this topic,the intention and significance of this study,the research methods and the definition of relevant concepts.The second chapter puts forward a comparative framework of the conceptions of NOS and its educational strategies on the basis of combing relevant research results at home and abroad.The third chapter makes a comparative analysis of the conceptions of NOS in Chinese and American new generation science curriculum standards,according to the comparative framework.The fourth chapter takes life science for instance,according to the comparative framework,introduces its content and presentation methods and requirements in these two new science curriculum standards,and different strategies of teaching NOS in these new science curriculum are also analyzed.The fifth chapter,based on the comparative analysis of the conceptions of NOS and strategies of teaching NOS in Chinese and American science curriculum standards,puts forward some concrete suggestions to strengthen NOS education in science curriculum standards and also reflect on the shortcomings of this research,and the follow-up research are prospected.
