A Study On Consumer Education In American Primary And Secondary Schools

Reasonable consumption is the main components and important content for primary and secondary students to get a happy life and better survival development.And it is also the basic way and guarantee for the healthy growth of primary and secondary school students.Through a sound consumer education,primary and secondary students can develop a good consumer quality,skills and habits,get healthy growth and become rational consumers.With the development of global ecology,the existing problems of the primary and secondary school students' consumption are becoming more and more prominent,for example,sensory intelligence,overly complicated and fast food characteristics.Consumer education in basic education of the United States has been carried out earlier and more mature,so it is of great significance for us to deeply understand and effectively solve the current consumption and consumer education problems of primary and secondary school students,so it is worth to be carried out a monographic study.In this paper,the basic research ideas are the organic unity of the national thematic framework and the educational social ecological theory.Using literature research,comparative approach and historical approach,briefly combed the historical context and segmentation of the consumer education in American primary and secondary schools.This survey also analysis the structural elements include target,subject,content,condition and so on.Achievements,characteristics and existing problems are summarized and excavated deeply.Finally,on the basis of comparing the different development stages,teaching contents,teaching methods and teacher training between China and American consumer education,combining with the inspiration and reference of consumer education in primary and secondary schools in the United States,this paper puts forward some suggestions to improve and deepen our country's consumer education: The government should strengthen emphasis on consumer education,primary and secondary schools should use of a variety of consumer education curriculum model and carry out a variety of activities in the consumer education teaching,strengthen the building of consumer education teachers and build schools,families,social trinity of consumer education system.
