A Case Study Of Families Of Serious Patients

Disease as one of an important factors influences a household lifestyle.The ones with serious illness in the family need to be taken care of,and family members must look after them with paying the price in economic,physical and psychological aspects in the long term,resulting in loss,disappointment,social isolation,depression and other negative emotions,and seriously affecting physical and mental health,which is not conducive to the harmonious development of the family.The longer time spent in taking care of seriously ill patients,the more prominent the families' problems are.In this study,basing on the Superiority perspective Theory and Social support Theory and with social work skills such as respect,acceptance,listening,clarification and support,I provide social work service for a wife suffering from long-term copper metabolic disease in a community in Baoding,trying to overcome the difficulty she facing through the approach of case social work and help the family return to normal social life.The research is with the purpose of finding the client's advantages,improving the self-confidence of the client,establishing the normal social interaction and social support network for her,and finally helping her return to the normal social life.Through the interview,investigation and visit,the author understands the basic situation of the service object;as well as the reasons for the formation of the problem are analyzed and estimated to develop a service objectives and plans;and then through the case work skills and methods of service,the final assessment shows that there are a series of changes on the emotional status of the object,depression,social interaction and social support,which proves that social work involved is effective.The study finds that social work involved in the long-term care for families of seriously ill patients is beneficial to their personal and family lives to return to normal development.The perspective of the problem into the advantages of perspective,the advantages of perspective,social support theory applied to social work cases involved in the time played a positive role.In the course of carrying out the family service of seriously ill patients,it is necessary to combine the case work with the humanistic treatment mode to help them establish the social interaction and social support network of the clients,fully exploit the advantages of the clients,enhance the self-confidence and self-change of the clients and provide reference for the future work and research of family members involved in serious illness.
