Domestic and foreign research on foreign language learning strategies has been deeply researched, but mainly based on the learning strategies of adults or college students.Few researches have been done on the English learning strategies of high school students in urban-rural integration under the new English curriculum reform. How are the English learning strategies of high school students in urban-rural integration? To what degree does the learning strategy influence the English achievement of high school students in urban-rural integration? What are the reasons for the overall characteristics of students' English learning strategies? Are there any differences in the use of English learning strategies for different genders,science-humanities division, grades and schools? These questions need to be answered in time, therefore it is necessary to study the English learning strategies of high school students in urban-rural integration. In this paper, the author hope to find suitable English learning strategies for students and promote the development of high school English on the edge of the city through the study of English learning strategies of high school students in this urban-rural integration. In this research,a questionnaire was carried out on the English learning strategies of 1378 students from two high schools in urban-rural integration,Leshan,Sichuan province. An interview was held on some teachers and students. The data were analyzed by text document,Excel and SPSS software. The research presents the following findings:1)Students in urban-rural integration school have a low level in using the English learning strategies which belong to basic non-use.The most common use is resource strategy followed by cognitive strategy, control strategy and communicative strategy.2)The learning strategies have significant positive correlation with English grade and a 30.1%predictive power for it.The learning strategies of the students with high and low scores are significantly different, and the higher group is better than the lower one.3)Significant distinctions are showed between male and female students in the application of learning strategies.Female students have a higher strategy level than male students;4)There are significant differences between the art students and science students in the use of learning strategies. The strategic application level of liberal art students is higher than that of science students.5)Except for the lowest frequency in senior two,the use of students' learning strategies are more frequent and better with grade growth.6)There was no significant difference in the use of learning strategies for students in the same type of schools in the same area, which provides an example for the study of the commonality of English learning strategies in the same type of urban-rural integration high schools.English teachers should pay attention to the guidance and training of students' learning strategies, which is beneficial to high school English teaching efficiency and students' independent learning ability.
