| The proportion of reading comprehension has risen day by day in high school English teaching and the National College Entrance Examination.The teaching materials in every version put the theme first,making students know about culture of English-speaking countries.Understanding the culture of the article will bring great help for people to read.By analyzing the reading comprehension sections in the National College Entrance Examinations from 2011 to 2016 and studying "Ordinary High School English curriculum Standards",we should discuss the importance in the teaching of high school English Reading so as to put forward some effective ways of cultural background knowledge infiltration.After the analysis of the National College Entrance Examination English Test Papers,it can be concluded that the 6 years' English test papers have strictly carried out the requirements of language ability and cultural consciousness in "Ordinary High School English curriculum Standards".The papers pay attention to the discourse comprehension as a whole and highlight the role of context.Therefore,it is important and necessary to pay attention to the cultural background knowledge during teaching.With the analysis of problems existing in the teaching process and searching for some relevant literature,there are 6 advice as followed:1.Guiding students to access to the western culture through transforming the teacher's role.2.Materials in good use and curriculum in rational way.3.Digging out the cultural knowledge of words,context,languages.4.Adopt different teaching methods according to different types of reading materials to arouse students'interests in learning English.5.Pay much attention to life,society and the times and broaden knowledge.6.Organizing abundant extracurricular activities as well as selecting extracurricular reading materials.In the whole,I hope I can provide some valuable advice for cultural teaching for high school teachers. |
