Group Work Intervention On The Social Participation Of The Elderly In Rural Areas

The aging of population is an irreversible trend.With the concept of positive aging,the core value,the social participation of the elderly,has gradually been valued by the academic community and the government.In a broad sense,the activities that the elderly maintain social connections in various forms are all called elderly social participation.In a narrow sense,social participation of the elderly refers to the elderly participating in social development,which refers to the policy“the elderly can still amount to something'' advocated by the workers who work for the elderly in our country.We can say that the elderly to participate in social development and to achieve “the elderly can still amount to something” is a positive strategy and strategic measure for the comprehensive control of population aging.It is also the right and interest which the elderly should have.However,for the elderly in rural communities,the society does not attach importance to the needs of the elderly's social participation in rural area.Conditions of social participation in rural communities are bad as well.The content of social participation of the elderly in the rural area is relatively single.The sense and ability of social participation of the elderly in rural areas are not strong.And the involvement from professional social work is rare.Group social work method is one of the three methods of professional social work.How to apply the method of group social work to improve the social participation of the elderly in rural areas and how do social workers intervene are the urgent aspects which social workers should pay attention to in the intervening process.This paper used professional approach of group work to intervene the elderly in the rural community and to explore the above issues.The author mainly adopts the literature research method,the interview method and the participatory observation method,and takes the aged 60 years old and above as the object of service in the vicinity of the good neighbor's center near Donggang Town,Xishan District,Wuxi.Based on the theory of symbol interaction theory and activity theory,The analysis of the needs of the clients,the establishment of the overall objectives and objectives of the project program,and choose the group work in the reciprocal model and the development of the model as a practical process of work,to complete the project design work.Through the development of project activities,this paper reveals the application process and effect feedback of reciprocity model and development model in this study,and reconsiders and summarizes the social involvement of the group in the social participation of the elderly in the rural community and puts forward the relevant feasibility suggestionThrough the study,it is found that there are still some shortcomings in the application of the social work of the group and the lack of social participation of the elderly in the rural community.The work of the group on the activities of the fixed group members leads to the social workers can provide the service has some limitations,so both in the individual and the scope of the object there are shortcomings.Therefore,in the future,social workers should combine the three methods of social work to promote the work to achieve better results.At the same time,the author will also promote the rural elderly active aging,create a healthy aging society,and continue to explore the social work of the elderly practice,and strive to social workers professional image enjoys popular support.
