As chemistry is a natural science based on experiment.The New Curriculum Reform also attaches great importance to using experimental teaching in chemistry,advocates various inquiry activities based on experiments,changes traditional teaching mainly led by teachers' teaching,improves students,learning methods and promotes the effects of chemistry teaching.In the Chemistry Curriculum,from the elective section of Foundations of Organic Chemistry,teachers are required to help students to have a good command of organic chemistry by using organic chemical experiments.In order to work out teachers,confusing problems in teaching and make full use of experiments,according to the characteristics of chemistry,basing on the new course theory,the author put forward a teaching mode—from Problem-Based Teaching to Inquiry Experimental Teaching.Besides,the author conducted a teaching experimental research on the some grade 2 students from ordinary middle schools,Guangxi.The methods used in the research are as follows:Documentary Research Method,Questionnaire Survey,Case Analysis Method,Paper-pencil Tests Method and Interview Method.By consulting documentary information and some relative researches,the author had a good knowledge of the current situation of experimental teaching mode,had a clear researching direction,and laid a good foundation of the research.The author did a questionnaire on the Grade 2 students of Yulin No.1 Middle School,Guangxi,which is about the psychological needs of high school students towards chemical experiments.The questionnaire is designed for teachers to know what are students' favorite experimental methods,which can stimulate students'enthusiasm in experimental researches,and which also can guide the author to make a better preparation in teaching designs.Combining the advantages of Inquiry Teaching and Problem-Based Teaching,the author put forward an experimental teaching mode--from Inquiry Teaching to Problem-Based Teaching Mode,which forms the basic processes of teaching.According to the teaching mode,the author did a research in 2 classes in Yulin No.1 Middle School,Guangxi,including an experimental class and a comparative class.The research is an empirical research,which is about halogenated hydrocarbon and phenol.By making 2 practical teaching examples,the author also inspected the scientificity and operability of the mode in the standpoint of quantitative and qualitative.The result of the research shows that after using the "from Inquiry Teaching to Problem-Based Teaching Mode",the students from experimental class made obvious progress in learning enthusiasm,the ability of understanding and commanding knowledge,the ability of group cooperation,the ability of expression.During the procedure of learning,students can master some general methods of science research and have an improvement in subject accomplishment by taking part in referring to documentary information,putting forward hypothesis,designing researching methods and drawing conclusions from experiments.However,because of a lack of enough samples and enough research time,the universality and generalization of the teaching mode put forward in the research still needs to be checked and improved in practice.
