In 2014,Opinions on comprehensively deepening the curriculum reform and the ultimate task of implementing Virtue for people was decreed by the Ministry of Education,which has clearly pointed out the new mission for the foreseeable future specifically in the field of the reform of textbooks in primary level.It is well known that one of the most suitable ways to improve the quality of current using textbook is to seek the strength from the textbooks from other regions or countries.Due to the reason that Taiwan China and Mainland China has the same cultural background,one of many textbook versions has brought into the comparison.This study discusses the differences and specialties of algebra material in elementary school textbooks between Taiwan China and Mainland China.This thesis adopted the way of comparative and content analysis.This thesis mainly focus on the algebra,which is one of four main dimensions in curriculum standard,for the purpose to analyze in order to gain improvement for the next version.The results are summarized in the following.1.The teaching goals presented in algebra content in these two versions of textbooks are nearly fully base on Mathematics Curriculum Standard.2.The proportion of algebra material published by Kangxuan Educational Publishing Group increases steadily.The proportion of algebra material published by Suzhou Education Publishing Group in China shows the opposite way steadily.3.Sujiao version textbooks pays lots of attention on the algebra practice.4.Kangxuan version shows more flexible ways in composing the symbolic fillings.5.Both versions are lack of test content of transitive experiences.
