Since the beginning of grammar teaching in China in the 1950 s,we have encountered many difficulties and experienced a tortuous development process.The main reason for this is the particularity of the Chinese grammar system and the fact that teachers are seriously deficient in grammar teaching in middle schools.When grammar teaching experiences a difficult exploration period and has not yet achieved certain results,it was criticized as boring and useless.After the popularization of Chinese language theory,grammar teaching has not yet played its due role,and it has gradually been forgotten.With the passage of time,the lack of Chinese language knowledge and the decline in reading and writing abilities of middle school students in recent years have forced us to seek reasons from the fundamental point of language teaching.The essence of Chinese language teaching is to improve students' ability to understand and use language.Grammatical knowledge is an essential part of the basic knowledge of Chinese language.The purpose of this article is to reintroduce grammar teaching,guide teachers and students to emphasize the importance of grammar knowledge for language basic knowledge learning,grasp the teaching and learning methods of grammar knowledge.In order to return grammar teaching to Chinese language classes in middle schools.This article uses the two methods of interviewing and case analysis,on the basis of reviewing the history of Chinese grammar teaching in junior high schools,we will turn our attention to foreign countries.Looking at the history and experience of mother tongue teaching in the United States and Germany.The necessity of grammar teaching in middle school is confirmed from the perspective of mother tongue education,the requirements of the core literacy of Chinese language disciplines,and the need of students' writing and reading.After affirming the necessity of grammar teaching,according to the age of junior high school students and the characteristics of learning,the content of grammar knowledge that junior high school students need to master is defined.Finally,combining the new requirements of the current language education and the real situation of grammar teaching,this paper proposes effective strategies for the teaching of Chinese grammar in junior middle schools from four aspects: teaching materials,teachers,teaching methods,and evaluation.It is expected that grammar teaching will play its due role in junior high school Chinese teaching: Teachers will use reasonable and effective methods to teach grammar;language,with the help of grammar knowledge,they can truly fulfill the enrichment and improvement of Chinese knowledge and ability,commitment to the inheritance and innovation of mother tongue.
