| With the continuous reform and development of the education teaching,in the environment of quality education,new curriculum standard puts forward higher requirements for English teaching.It attaches great importance to the subject status of students so cooperation study gets the favor of the educational circles.Group cooperation learning model gives full play to students’ subjective initiative,so the studies on the model of group cooperative learning become the hot and the key of education teaching research.In response to the requirements of the new curriculum reform,the author introduced the cooperative learning mode of “Teacher-friend helping each other” into English reading classroom teaching.In order to verify the effectiveness of the mode in junior high school English reading teaching in Miao nationality region,the author studied the application of this pattern in reading teaching,hoping to find the problems and put forward related suggestions.The study has some research significance.It can enrich theory connotation of cooperative learning,enhance teachers’ practice ability of group cooperative learning,promote the effective implementation of group cooperative learning,and finally provide reference for constructing effective English reading class.This thesis focuses on three questions:(1)Does the “Teacher-friend helping each other” group cooperative learning mode help the students to improve their reading ability? If yes,to what extent?(2)Does the “Teacher-friend helping each other ” group cooperative learning mode enhance the interest of English reading of the students in Miao area? If yes,to what extent?(3)What are the differences of the students’ attitudes towards English reading after using the “Teacher-friend helping each other” group cooperative learning mode?This research adopted literature research method,investigation method,classroom experiment method,and observational method to study the application of“Teacher-friend helping each other” group cooperative learning in junior high school English reading teaching in Miao area.Before the study,the author consulted a large number of books and periodicals to understand the connotation of group cooperative learning and the research status to provide theoretical basis for the following research.Then prior to the experiment,the author conducted pre-test and pre-questionnaires on students to collect data for data reference based on the research questions.In the process of experiment,the author introduced what is “Teacher-friend helping each other”group cooperative learning,grouped scientifically,organized the students to do group building,cleared the division of group members and trained their cooperation consciousness.Then,the group cooperative learning mode was used into study in English reading class,and the author adjusted the methods with the aid of constant observation.After the experiment,the author made post–test,post-questionnaires and interview for the students.In addition,the collected data were compared with the pre-measured data,and the conclusions were drawn and relevant suggestions were put forward.Through the software statistical analysis,it was found that the learning mode can influence students’ English reading ability,reading interest and reading attitudes.The results show that:(1)The cooperative learning mode can markedly improve students’ reading ability.(2)The cooperative learning mode can greatly enhance students’ interest in English reading.(3)The cooperative learning mode can make students’ attitudes towards English reading become positive and confident.To sum up,the learning mode has achieved good results in the practice of English reading in the Miao nationality area.It is worthy to be widely studied and promoted in the Miao area.This teaching method should be used by more English teachers in the classroom,to give full play to the advantages of this teaching method,to build an efficient English reading class. |
