In this age of knowledge explosion,it is almost impossible for students to remember all their knowledge in tasks.Therefore,core concepts theory seems to be an inevitable trend.As a key concept in the center of the subject and capable of connecting the branches of the subject,the core concepts theory has occupied an important position in the field of science research and have always been the main content of the study of biology.General High School Curriculum Standards for the People's Republic of China(2017 Edition)also clearly stated that teachers should pay more attention to "big concepts" during teaching students.Learning is a continuous process from shallow to deep and from simple to complex,therefore,learning about core concepts theory should also follow this process.Learning progressions theory is defined as the process of gradual development and progress when students learn about a core concept for a long time.This study is based on a section of high school biology,Organisms and Environment.Through the analysis of the Compulsory Education Curriculum Standards(2011 Edition)and the Ordinary High School Biology Curriculum Standards(2017Edition),the core concepts were extracted and their internal relations were combed.With the help and the suggestions of the first-line teachers,the author presumed the core concepts and learning progressions of Organisms and Environment.Then the author distributed questionnaires in the first,second,and third year of a high school in Harbin,and the core concepts theory and the learning progressions theory are fully verified by analyzing the results of the questionnaires.At the same time,four teaching cases were designed based on core concepts theory and learning progressions theory.It was also verified that it can improve teaching efficiency to a certain extent during teaching,and the main conclusions are as follows:1.The core concepts theory is an important foothold for teachers' teaching and textbook compilation,and has a core position;2.Effective learning progressions is a good basis for teacher's teaching and has strongly practicality;3.The combination of core concepts and effective learning progressions is extremely practical.Finally,according to the conclusions of this study,relevant optimization suggestions are proposed for teachers' teaching work.
