The English Curriculum Standard issued by the Ministry of Education points out the necessity and importance of grammar teaching.And it emphasizes that grammar teaching is not only simply to let students remember some language rules,but also to combine traditional language teaching forms with their meaning and communicative function,so that students can internalize language rules in practical language application and accurately use the language items learned.The New Curriculum Standard also advocates that English grammar in senior high schools should be taught from the perspective of application,emphasizing that grammar teaching should not only be confined to grammatical categories,but also must be linked to logical thinking,cultural awareness,textual context,genre of subjects,vocabulary,and so on.So that students’ grammatical awareness and the accuracy of language use can be developed.How to teach grammar becomes more necessary in the context of The New Curriculum Standard.On this basis,interactive teaching is applied to grammar teaching.According to the requirements of the new curriculum standards and the characteristics of cognitive development of students in senior high schools,interactive teaching is applied to English grammar teaching as a new model.Interactive teaching emphasizes ‘communication’ and ‘dialogue’ in the teaching process and discussion,communication and communication between teachers and students.In the interactive teaching activities,students become the main body of the learning process,actively to discover and explore new knowledge.The advantage of interactive teaching is that it greatly stimulates students’ innovative ideas and desires,promotes students’ interest in innovation,and cultivates students’ innovative ability to produce new knowledge,new ideas and innovative things.The purpose of this study is to investigate the current situation of interactive teaching in English grammar teaching in senior high schools and to answer the following two questions:1.What methods do teachers use to carry out interactive teaching in English grammar teaching?2.What effects do these interactive teaching methods have on grammar teaching?In this thesis,108 students in two classes of senior one in Sheyang County Second High school were investigated by the form of questionnaire,classroom observation and8 teachers in this school were investigated by the forms of interview and questionnaire.The collected data are statistically analyzed and discussed,and the following conclusions are drawn.First of all,through the questionnaire survey,the author finds out that in the English grammar classroom teachers mainly use two interactive forms to carry out interactive teaching which include group discussion and question and answer between teachers and students.The students’ participation is the highest when the teacher organizes these two forms of interactive activities.Through classroom observation,the author learned that students seldom ask questions actively,and students are more willing to answer teachers’ questions.There are also quite a few teachers who prefer to interact with students while explaining exercises.Second,as far as students are concerned,group discussions increase the opportunities for interaction and increase students’ interest in grammar lessons.In addition,the students found a lot of weak points in grammar through the exchange and discussion among the group members,which increased their proficiency in grammar and their self-confidence in grammar learning.As far as teachers are concerned,most teachers believe that ‘question and answer between teachers and students’ and ‘group discussion’ not only increase the opportunities to communicate with the students,but also enliven the classroom atmosphere and increase interest of grammar teaching.
