In recent years, because of the rise of mobile Internet, information technology is gaining steam again. The advent of the age of mobile Internet caused a huge shock to the traditional service industries, deeply changed people's production and life style. Mobile access technology, as the promoter of the mobile Internet, has become the research focus in the communication industry. Because of its various advantages in flexible deployment, low prices, high bandwidth and good user experience, WiFi has become the preferred mobile portal. But there are also various limits to expand WiFi signal coverage. WiFi Mesh network is a distributed wireless mesh network based on WiFi technology, with the characters of self-organization, self-configuring and self-healing. By using WiFi Mesh Network, WiFi signal coveragecan be easily expanded under low cost. Therefore, the development of research on WiFi Mesh technology is of great practical value, which can promote WiFi network application and the further development of the mobile Internet.Most of the advantages of WiFi Mesh Network depend on the performance of routing protocol. HWMP has both goods of reactive routing and proactive routing, is the most suitable routing protocol for wireless mesh network, and also the default routing protocol in IEEE802.11 s. Although in wireless mesh networks, HWMP routing algorithm can efficiently find the best path for data transmission, but there is still room for improvement. HWMP is a single path routing protocol, when the routing table need to be rebuild because of network fault, it will cost too much time. Therefore, on the occasions of higher requirements for real-time, single path HWMP routing protocol does not guarantee the reliability of the mesh network. In this paper, on the basis of HWMP protocol, we proposed an improved strategy——distributed backup routing solution, which realized the HWMP multipath routing protocol.The scheme proposed in this paper pays an acceptable more cost in the process of routing set up and routing maintain to establish backup paths for local routing path and root routing path. When a path break for link failures, data transmission can be quickly restored by path switching or local repair mechanism. Routing reconstruction comes at last, when all these methods are unable to perform. After test, the scheme proposed in this paper can greatly improve the efficiency of data recovery in dealing with the routing failures.
