China’s manufacturing industry plays an important role in China’s national economy. With the continuous development of CAD application technology in manufacturing industry, the current three-dimensional model has become the core media of product information presentation. As enterprise product development and production are gradually going flattened, information exchange among enterprises is increasingly frequent, and different enterprises often choose different three-dimensional design platform for meeting their own development needs, so a unified three-dimensional visualization system is an urgent need for the manufacturing industry to improve design quality and developing production efficiency. The goal of this paper is to design and implement a 3D visualization system for the manufacturing industry.This paper described the whole implementation process of the system by background investigation, requirement analysis, outline design, detailed design and implementation test. Firstly, this paper discussed the background of the 3D visualization system and the problems to be solved, the requirements of the system were defined from requirement analysis of PC-side function, Android-side function and non-function. Secondly, the outline design was described by frame design, class library design and design of physical file data storage. Specific function of the PC side and Android side were respectively detailedly designed. Finally, the implementation of all modules were briefly introduced in the realization part, describing the test process of the system by the functional test and the performance test.The system adopted C ++ language to realize the display of server and PC, and realized the mobile application based on Android system. The system realized the functions of lightweight 3D model analysis,3D model display, rendering, assembly, annotation and so on. A comprehensive, scalable, and lightweight 3D visualization application solution was provided for the manufacturing lifecycle processes, such as design, craft and production, and so on throughout the process, enabling lifecycle participants to handle product data in both 2D and 3D formats with visualization way, even though the data was created with different editing software.In conclusion, based on analyzing the 3D visualization need of the manufacturing industry, and solving the problem of exchanging data on a architecture with unified lightweight high-performance browsing, the 3D visualization system with lightweight high-performance browsing for the manufacturing industry was designed and implemented.
