The protection of water resources is becoming a global issue in the face of increasingly severe water shortage.Similarly,to protect water is also a matter of great urgency in China,which feels threatened by drought and water shortage.Aimed at overcoming the deficiencies of the existing meter reading systems,this thesis is to design a wireless meter reading system based on ZigBee,following the principles of convenient management,safe meter reading as well as energy conservation and environmental protection.The system,which uses low-energy CC2530 as the meter reading chip and CC2531 as the concentrator,applies ZigBee transmission technology and cable TV transmission network,which has a high penetration rate,to the connection between intelligent meters,concentrator and server.Since the design of meter reading system varies with the installation conditions,this thesis introduces the design and implementation of two different models of meter reading system respectively based on centralized and distributed installation.As for centralized installation type,this thesis designs an intelligent water meter,concentrator,master concentrator,and simulated display interface of server,realizing data frame transmission between intelligent water meter and concentrator,concentrator and master concentrator.A concentrator based on route transmission is designed to save node energy consumption and to prolong the service life.Inside the master concentrator the author integrates a simplified digital set-top box and a ZigBee module to which ZigBee communication technology,USB transmission technology,and TCP/IP transmission technology are applied.Finally,the server interface is simply simulated to display data frames of the meter reading system.Similar to the design and implementation of centralized installation,distributed installation needs to leave our the route mode and set mode to network searching mode in relatively simple scenes.This thesis suggests that electricity or gas meter reading adopt the same system of water meter reading.Besides,this thesis puts forward a meter reading scheme based on real-time electricity price and ladder-like water/gas price.The next step is totest the meter reading system.The First step is to test the life of the intelligent water meter in this project.The next step is to compare the life of this reading scheme and other reading scheme.The last step is to test the working of system,based oncentralized and distributed installation.
