In recent years, the elevator safety has received more and more attention because of the high elevator accident rate. The elevator monitoring system is one of effective means to monitor elevator’s running status. However, the traditional monitoring system is just confined to real-time monitoring. When an exception occurs, the artificial way is the usual method to be adopted for alarming, which manifests shortcomings such as low efficiency and poor real-timeliness.With the progress of the technology, the elevator monitoring area puts forward higher requirements to the system for intelligent analysis and abnormity detection. Therefore, this thesis designs the hardware of intelligent monitoring system for elevator’s running status based on DM8148 video processor. On the basis of the original real-time monitoring, the system completes the intelligent analysis of elevator’s running status through the video information and archives abnormity detection such as switch gate monitoring and abnormal exposure. On the back end,the system achieves the interaction of data and alarm feedback through the Ethernet. In addition, the system extends other sensors to support the acquisition and processing of elevator’s related parameters. The test shows that the intelligent monitoring system for elevator ’s running status based on DM8148 video processor has high stability and good anti-interference ability. At present, the system has got through the testing process of prototype machine, which works normally to achieve overall functions in actual working environment and meets the requirement.
