| The Belt and Road Initiative(BRI)is a major important decision that the country has taken to create a new pattern for China’s all-round opening up.It aims to strengthen the mutual integration of people connectivity,policy connectivity,infrastructure connectivity,trade connectivity and finance connectivity alongside countries of The Belt and Road.In recent years,with the strategy of the rise of central China,the first aviation economy comprehensive pilot zone,Zhengzhou-Europe International Shuttle Train and China(Henan)Free Trade Pilot Zone have developed rapidly.Henan,as a province that actively participates in the BRI,has received increasing attentions and is taking advantage of opportunities to accelerate the leap from a large economic province to a strong economical province,as well as from a cultural province with rich resources to a strong cultural province.In the meanwhile,the BRI has brought brand new contents and understandings towards Henan external communication activities.How to make more people know about Henan along with the implementation of BRI,the paper has carried out in-depth research.It is to clarify the concepts concerned of external communication,and then to acquire the status quo of Henan external communication within the context of BRI by designing and disseminating questionnaires,finding out the advantages and disadvantages thereof,then to carry out path analysis and propose promotion strategies.The questionnaire was designed in three versions: English version,Chinese version,and English simplified version.It is based on audiences from Henan external communication(foreigners in Henan,Chinese and foreigners in foreign countries),appropriate questionnaires are distributed to different audiences in the form of on the spot or networks.At the same time,some audiences are selected to conduct individual and focus group interviews to obtain the true and accurate attitudes towards the current practice of Henan external communication,and summarize the problems.How to grasp the BRI opportunity to tell the story about Henan,spread the voice of Henan,integrate traditional or modern contents of Chinese civilization with typical Henan characteristics and promote its dissemination to countries along The Belt and Road and even to the world.The paper carries out path analysis of Henan external communication in the context of The Belt and Road from the aspects of communicators,audiences,contents,and channels.Henan external communication should be good at using a variety of innovative communication channels to tell the human interest story about Henan people’s livelihood-related,in order to create a good image of Henan and enhance the initiative international competitiveness of Henan external communication.Finally,from the perspectives of macro,meso,and micro perspectives,the paper puts forward the promotion strategies of Henan external communication in the context of the BRI,namely focusing on the overall situation,opening up an international perspective,basing on itself,promoting localization,raising awareness,and establishing an evaluation system,providing reference for the next step in the specific practice of foreign communication,supplement and improve the regional external communication system. |
