The Inventory Model Under Supply Chain Disruptions

Since the concept of supply chain was introduced, the majority of research has focused on reducing the uncertainty of supply chain, or how to make the supply chain leaner. After the 911 terrorist attacks, a number of supply chain disruptions events happened, leads to many companies suffer heavy losses, which gradually makes the research of supply chain disruptions become a hot spot. On the other hand, the adjacent supply chain node enterprises is the relationship between seller and buyer, that will have a serious impact on the validity of the whole supply chain when the lack of coordination between buyer and seller. So, take reasonable strategies to promote effective collaboration between enterprises in supply chain is an important topic of the research; further inventory management optimization is one of the main content of research.Firstly, this paper reviews the inventory management under supply chain disruptions both domestic and abroad, as well as the basic theory of the supply chain and supply chain disruptions. Then, under the situation of supply chain disruptions, random production state is introduced, a two stage inventory system has been built which consists of single producer and single distributor, the total system cost is regarded as the objective function. We calculate the minimum total cost by using distributed decision-making strategy and centralized decision-making strategy respectively. Thus to research the traditional independent inventory management, and the jointly inventory management under the environment of supply chain. Finally, the analysis of example shows that under the scenario of supply chain disruptions, adopting a centralized strategy can significantly reduce the total costs of the supply chain.Based on the above conclusion, several man agement practice suggestions are followed: firstly, global supply chain thought should be built, each enterprise should enhance effective collaboration with partners, give efforts to achieve the overall optimization of the supply chain, improve supply chain competitiveness, so as to enhance their competitiveness in the market. Second ly, enterprises should establish an effective early warning mechanism in order to timely detect disruptions and adopt restoration measures as soon as possible. Thirdly, because of the influence of the inventory holding cost to the supply chain system increases step by step, when an interrupt occurs the supply chain should give priority to reduce inventory levels downstream. Finally, when shortage phenomenon occurs, the loss of sales exceeds the delay cost, therefore enterprises should adopt corresponding strategies to reduce the ratio of lost sales in the shortage quantity.
