The Research On The Co-location Between Producer Services And Manufacturing In Hunan Province

Since the 1970 s, at a faster rate than the growth of the manufacturing industry, producer services have developed rapidly, the proportion of employment of production services sector and the added value become higher and higher.producer services is the intermediate product provider of manufacturing industry.producer services and manufacturing industry can't exist from each other.However, the research about the location relationship between producer services and manufacturing industry is still weak. The only literature just consider the independent effect of it.There is a synergistic effect between the production service industry and the manufacturing industry, and the effect is influenced by the business cost and the rate of urbanization. In the different stages of industrialization, the relationship between the production service industry and the manufacturing industry is different: in the beginning of industrialization, the producer services mainly provide basic services, the mainly demand of producer service to manufacturing is “internal supply”, they have weak interactions on spatial distribution; during the mid-industrialization, in the case of a limited needs, producer services and manufacturing reject each other because of the “crowding-out effect”, producer services tend to collect in city central, while manufacturing industry move in surrounding area; in the post-industrialization, producer services driven by high-end manufacturing and develop fast. It has a great attraction between the two spaces. Hunan province is in the middle of industrialization, through the analysis of 2003-2012 data, it is concluded that the production service industry and manufacturing industry have mutual exclusion effect in space in Hunan province.
