| With continuing improvement of industrialization and urbanization in recent years in Binhai New Area, development space for agriculture is shrinking. Proportion of agriculture in the three industries gradually becomes smaller in Binhai New Area. Meanwhile, the rapid increase in socio-economic conditions and consumption level put forward higher requirements on agricultural development. The single economic function of agriculture is changing to service function for community. In other words, the function to provide residents with primary agricultural production has been gradually weakened, while functions to provide residents with a higher quality of agricultural products, to enrich people's leisure life, and to improve the ecological environment are becoming more and more important. Urban modern agriculture has become an inevitable choice for agricultural development in Binhai New Area.This paper briefly reviews the global and domestic development status of urban modern agriculture, theories and development models, which lays theoretical and practical foundation for the analysis of urban modern agriculture development in Binhai New Area.This paper describes the agricultural situation in Binhai New Area from current agricultural industry development, agricultural structure, organizational form and development model of urban modern agriculture, and technology services. A comprehensive analysis of current agricultural development situation is given.As a strategic analysis method, SWOT analysis draws a series of conclusions in favour of the study object development by comprehensive study on advantages, weaknesses, opportunities and threatens. In this paper, SWOT is used to systemically analyse the internal and external conditions for the urban modern agriculture development in Binhai New Area, and proposes development strategies suitable for agriculture development in Binhai New Area, which are to seize the historic opportunity of development and opening up, use advantages, repair weaknesses, and actively improve deficiencies. Corresponding strategies on urban modern agriculture development are proposed based on the analysis, that is, we should emphasize government guidance, increase capital investment, enhance the level of agricultural science and technology, develop competitive industries, and improve infrastructure. Finally, research conclusions are drawn. |
