Analysis And Philosophical Thinking On China’s "Housing Slave" Phenomenon

From the initial welfare-housing to present commercial-housing,there are many changes in real estate market in our country,which is becoming one of the pillar industries in Chinese national economy through the thorough reform of system.With the rapid development,the degree of real estate marketability is becoming higher than before and we can see a new high continuously.House slaves are born at the right moment on condition of still rising of housing price.The emergence of liable and abnormal factors which are not conducive to the sustainable development of society is becoming a matter of great concern in the community.Therefore,it’s vital for us to understand and think these issues in a right way,and how to solve these problems is becoming more urgent.On this occasion,the paper analyzes the existing problems of current phenomenon,house slaves,and does a cause analysis and philosophical reflection.In addition to,we offer some relevant suggestion for the sound development of real estate market in our country.Based on reviewing big amounts of related literature,this paper firstly studies the development history of the real estate industry,its evolving process before and after the reforming and opening-up,and its progress on tax system,residential safeguard system and housing policy in our country.Then,some empirical study is carried out for analyzing the developing trend of real estate price by virtue of some related data collection and sorting,and investigating housing price in first-tier cities,such as Beijing,Shanghai,Guangzhou and Shenzhen and the living conditions of house slaves under heavy burden.Furthermore,we take Xinxiang,a fourth-tier city,as the example to study the development trend of multi-index in real estate market.Next,we deeply analyze the phenomenon,house slaves,caused by higher housing price from their living condition and its causes.And we make a reflection in a philosophical view,for example,describing its causes by using fetishism initiated by Marx,explaining people’s desire for home by using Maslow’s hierarchy of needs,demonstrating this universal phenomenon by using Marcuse’s theory of one-dimensionality and interpreting that it’s the product of alienated consumption.At last,some suggestions and measurements are presented in terms of solving the problems of the high housing price and the house slaves.
