| With the rapid development of tourism, the tourism consumption is increasing among many areas. However, the consumption of tourism souvenirs is not going well. Changsha has abundant and excellent local cultures, unfortunately these cultures are not reflected properly in the design of tourism souvenirs. How to design tourism souvenirs with local cultures that the tourists love and are willing to buy is becoming more and more important. The research mainly focuses on the development and design of tourism souvenirs based on the Xiang embroidery culture in Changsha.This thesis starts from the design concept of Xiang embroidery culture and then analyzes the main requests from tourists according to the market investigation. Finally, the author created some design principles for tourism souvenirs design and applies them to the tourism souvenirs design. For the development and design of tourism souvenirs based on Xiang embroidery in Changsha, the first foundation is that Xiang embroidery is regarded as an outstanding representative of Hunan culture, it is loved by tourists all over the world; The second foundation is that the current tourism souvenirs in Changsha are barely satisfacted by tourists; The third is that lots of Xiang embroidery souvenirs have many problems; the fourth foundation is that according to the results from market investigation, tourists have their own special requests. According to those foundations, the author created some design principles that tourism souvenirs design should follow. Based on the foundations and principles, the resource from Yuelu Academy is applied as the symbolic culture representative in Changsha, and two types of lampshades is designed by using the unique hexagon style of Yuelu Academy.The innovation point of this thesis includes: consumption potentiality of Xiang embroidery for the tourism souvenirs markets is excavated; the needs for the Changsha tourism souvenirs markets from the tourists is analyzed; Xiang embroidery tourism souvenirs, two types of lampshades, are designed, which is integrated with Xiang embroidery culture in the design of Changsha tourism souvenirs. |
