In recent years, with the deepening of economic globalization and international, the continual evolution in the production system of international trade division of labor pattern from inter-industry division, industry division to the product division of labor, the trade of intermediate products are the result of the international industry division of labor. The development of Chinese import of intermediate products quickly, the structure is continuous improvement, at the same time, China's economy has developed rapidly in accelerating technological progress. Under the condition of open economy, if there is a correlation between China's intermediate goods imported technology complexity and the China's total factor productivity, this is exactly what this article want to study.On the basis of summarizing the existing literature, Firstly, analysis how complexity of intermediate goods imported technology affects technological progress. Put forward technical complexity measure indicators and then describe the characteristics of intermediate goods imported technology from product level and industry level of 22 industry in our country. Secondly using solow residual method to estimate the industry's total factor productivity and describe the characteristics of total factor productivity. At last through the empirical part, (1)we find that the import of intermediate products technical complexity of our country industry play a significant role in promoting total factor productivity;(2)further regression found that intermediate goods imported technology complexity play a significant role in promoting total factor productivity of the labor and technology-intensive industry but no significant impact on the total factor productivity of capital-intensive industries. (3)About control variables, R&D have a negative effect on total factor productivity of labor and capital-intensive industries; Industry scale has positive effect on total factor productivity; FDI and the import of intermediate products exists heterogeneity on total factor productivity of different element intensive industry technical complexity.On the basis of the above analysis, we put forward the following suggestions: improve the structure of intermediate product import; absorb the beneficial FDI; improve capacity of innovation..
