Research On The Influence Of Logistics On Regional Economic Growth

China's economic development has entered a period of new normal,to the point where economic slowdown and structural adjustment forced all walks of life to try to explore new economic driving force.In recent years,the rapid development of the logistics industry in our country,in addition to its important role in developing overall regional economic,optimizing the economic structure,and saving transaction costs,the State Council promulgated the“logistics industry development and long-term planning(2014-2020)”,in which the logistics industry is clearly defined as national infrastructure and strategic industry in 2014.Under such context,in order to explore the influence of logistics in China's economic growth,this paper based both theoretical and empirical analysis,firstly makes reference to economic theory to analysis the efficiency improvement effect,cost saving effect,value realization effect as well as value added effect from logistics industry,secondly applies kernel density distribution to investigate the dynamics of China's logistics industry,and lastly uses quantile regression to examine the contribution of logistics industry to economic growth. The results indicates that the speed of logistics industry in China has accelerated and the regional gap of it has been deepening since 1998;the effect of logistics industry upon economic growth has the obvious gradual characteristic.During 0.3~0.8 quantiles of growth rate,the elasticity of logistics industry grows in step with GDP,but it has the relative stability at lower or higher quantiles;the elasticity of logistics industry in west area is the largest followed by the east and central areas. Based on empirical results,this paper gives the relevant policy recommendations from four aspects,namely,enhance the efficiency of the logistics market,promote its stimulation for economic growth;distribute logistics industry rationally to enhance regional logistics capability;increase the professional level of logistics,innovative logistics development model;promote low-carbon logistics to achieve green development.
