Based on the principal-agent theory, how the principal stimulates and supervises the agent was a puzzle for the development of modern enterprise.Performance evaluation arose at the historic moment. In the era of knowledge-based economy, the enterprise value creation gradually divided into two parts:the financial performance and the strategic performance. Financial capital that is simply measured by financial indicators is not enough for the realization of the long-term strategy. Gradually, more attention is paid to the evaluation of intangible assets such as human capital. In order to promote the sustainable development of enterprises, it is significant to establish a set of scientific performance evaluation system.This thesis focus on the role of performance evaluation in the enterprise strategic performance. So Tianyuanmuge Modern Agriculture Company is taken as a case to study its performance evaluation system, by using normative research method, case analysis method and Enterprise Life Cycle theory. Analysis found that:it still exists problems such as:mismatch between evaluation target and its strategy; lack of evaluation standard hierarchy; improper evaluation index; insufficient incentive effect. The reasons of the problems are explained here. Based on the applicability of balance performance evaluation model, the author tried to put forward suggestions from the following aspects:target setting, standard selection, index construction and its incentive effect, which is to associate performance evaluation with the company's strategic target and incentive mechanism, thus to promote the realization of its strategic performance.The thesis is to provide some beneficial thinking on the design and improvement of enterprise performance evaluation. On one hand, under the background of knowledge era,it expands the content and scope of theory to apply strategic management theory to the performance evaluation research. On the other hand, it is more comprehensive and systematic to associate performance evaluation with its strategic target and incentive mechanism, which is also more in line with the requirements of enterprise strategy management. Furthermore, it could be a reference value and significance to the improvement of performance evaluation of industry.
