Electricity is an important energy to guarantee the smooth operation of modern society; as a result, supplying it safely and stably is always the priority among priorities for power supply enterprises. Power transmission includes electricity generation, transmission, transformation, distribution and supply. Secondary equipment of electricity plays a vital role in preventing expansion of accident and keeping the safe and stable operation of electrical power system. The management of spare parts of electricity’s secondary equipment concerns not only the inventory cost of power supply company, but also repairing efficiency of power grid. Therefore, researching and improving the management of spare parts of electricity’s secondary equipment can help company with reducing operating costs, decreasing the maintenance time on breakdown and enhance work efficiency and social efficiency, which has a significant guiding significance in practice.This paper firstly introduces the background and meaning of research and also makes necessary statement on relevant theories; secondly, it analyzes the current management situation about secondary equipment’s spare parts in State Grid Changsha Power Supply Company and finds out major problems in the daily management. After that, the author designs a set of improvement plans to improve the inventory management of spare parts of secondary power equipment with the use of VED classification method, to enhance the on-site management of spare parts room with the use of 5S management method, to make an effective integration of spare parts information with the use of mobile two-dimensional code technology, so as to enhance its security capabilities and reduce costs, improving the overall level of secondary spare parts management.Nowadays, since power supply companies adopt unified management mode, the difficulties met by Changsha Power Supply Company of State Grid in operation usually are common problems for other companies; as a result, this improvement project will also give guidance and reference to other power supply companies.
