China is at a stage of rapid urbanization and industrialization, there are many problems of urban land use, the contradiction between supply of resources and environment and the development of a city in economy and society is becoming increasingly acute. Lanzhou city is an important political, economic, cultural and transportation center in the northwest region, and is also the largest industrial city in in Northwest China. The land use structure and land use performance of Lanzhou city has changed significantly because of rapid revitalization and development of the city, which has impact on the land use sustainability. Therefore, in order to promote the intensive use of land resources within the city and the coordinated development of economic, social and ecological environment, the research of land use performance evaluation in Lanzhou city is particularly important.Restricted by factors such as the difficulty of obtaining data sources, the research on the spatial difference of land use performance from the township(town, street) scale is still rare in China. The thesis firstly defines the connotation of land use performance, establish the land use performance evaluation index system(including land use degree, efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability of the four second indexes and 20 bottom indexes) based on the previous work; then with the 111 townships(towns, streets) of Lanzhou City as the research unit and the first geographic national census results and social-economic statistical yearbook as the main data source, on the basis of reducing the scale of some index data, using the land use degree model and entropy method to calculate the two level index value and comprehensive performance value, analyze the spatial differences of land use performance in Lanzhou City, and calculate the coupling coordination of land use performance system by using coupling degree and coordination model; Finally, put forward appropriate regulatory policies for each type region according to the classification results of land use performance.The results showed that:(1) The land use degree, efficiency and effectiveness of Lanzhou present the characteristics of clustered and similar spatial distribution, the high value areas are collectively distributed on center street in Chengguan District and Qilihe district; and the spatial distribution trend of land use sustainability is more discrete, the sustainability is proportional to the green area.(2) The value of land use performance range from 6.26 to 54.15,and formed 4 high value center districts which respectively centered at Gaolan road street of Chengguan District, West Lake Street of Qilihe district, West Anning Road of Anning District, Lintao street of Xigu District, The higher value areas are distributed in the periphery of the high value regions, while the low value areas are distributed in the edge area, the higher value proportion is relatively small, and the overall level of land use performance is low. On the whole, the performance shows a clear "center- periphery" structure mode.(3) The spatial aggregation of land use performance is divided into three types of hot spots, cold spot areas and heterogeneous cold spot areas. Hot spots are mainly distributed in the central city of the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization process,cold spot areas are mainly distributed in Yongdeng County, Gaolan county and Yuzhong County, heterogeneous cold areas are mainly distributed in the Fulongping streets of Chengguan District and kongjianya Street of Anning District, the main reason is that itself is located in the city center, but development is backward, while the development of the surrounding units is relatively fast. There does not exist that the performance value of a research unit higher than that of the surrounding area, namely there is no heterogeneous hot spots.(4) The types of performance coupling coordination in Lanzhou city are: 47% of the area is at a low degree of coupling coordination, we need to optimize the current land use structure, accelerate the aggregation of population and industry, and improve the efficiency of land use; 21% of the area is at a moderate degree of coupling coordination, we need to stabilize land use, increase the intensity of development appropriately, and improve the efficiency of land use; 32% of the area is at a high degree of coupling coordination, we should strengthen the management of ecological environment,optimize the industrial structure, adjust the layout of major industrial construction, promote regeneration and prevent stagnation and regression.
