Research On The Tactics Of Improving Supply Chain Flexibility In Manufacturing Enterprises From Aspect Of Strategy Orientation

Globalization of the supply chain network, diversity of consumer demand and the rapidity of technological innovation have led to high uncertainties of the external environment about supply chain, which have increased the complexity of supply chain management. The purpose of supply chain management is to maximize the supply chain's performance and response to changes in the supply chain quickly through effective collaboration among supply chain enterprises. Supply chain flexibility is considered to be the effective means of responsing to the changeable and uncertain environment, so systematic and comprehensive research on supply chain flexibility is very important. However, research on the flexibility are more concentrated in manufacturing field. In addition, most research on supply chain flexibility are about the supply chain flexibility assessment, the impact of supply chain flexibility on performance, but the study of the factors affecting the supply chain flexibility is less. Some scholars have proposed that strategy is one of the factors. This paper also considers strategic orientation change is crucial to deal with changes in the external environment, which is reflected in the long-term business goals and the pursuit of their own position through effective allocation of resources to meet the internal and external environment, and strategy orientation has an important influence on supply chain flexibility.This research chooses supply chain in manufacturing enterprise as the research object, uses multi-case study and theory study to research the effect of strategy orientation on supply chain flexibility in depth:Frist part is literature review about strategy orientation and supply chain flexibility, and investigate the relationship between firm's strategy and supply flexibility through multi-case research. Then through theory research in combination with multi-case analysis come to a proposition about the effect of strategy orientation upon supply chain flexibility. Thus according to conclusions above, it proposed two strategies named "market driven flexible supply chain" and "product innovation mode based on supply chain" to enhance the supply chain flexibility from the aspect of strategy. At last, it analyzed the supply chain of Lenovo, and proposed some tactics to improve its supply chain flexibility from entrepreneurial orientation and market orientation.Judging from the theory and multiple case studies, market orientation and entrepreneurial orientation can promote the flexibility of supply chain. This paper not only enriches the theoretical syetem of supply chain flexibility, but can help manufacturing enterprise understand the way to improve supply chain flexibility and construct them develop a flexible supply chain.
