Iran has a long tradition of producing handmade carpets. Nowadays more than $1 billion worth of handmade carpets are exported each year, which is 30% of the world market. However during the last five years the Iranian handmade carpet export has had a drastic decline due to the lower prices of the rival countries’ carpets and their conformity with the taste of the world markets.In this thesis we recognized the effective criteria on competitiveness power in Iran’s handmade carpet industry and presented a model for the evaluation and analysis of criteria. Accordingly, we have reached a general grouping of these criteria based on using collecting all existing factors in subject literature and old researches and semi-structured interviews with experts of handmade carpet industry.We presented a suggested model for evaluating competitiveness power in Iran’s handmade carpet industry. Indeed we scored the level of effectiveness and impressionability of the factors to each other by the comments of 26 experts which included managers and experts of national carpet industry by paired comparison questionnaire.Our results show that "management power" and "efficiency" are the most effective and most impressionable criteria in competitiveness power, as well as "competing strategy" and "fiscal structure" are the most interactive and less interactive criteria in competitiveness power, respectively.
