The rapid development of e-commerce help SMEs to seek more living space in a highly competitive market environment. At the same time, complaints by the users in e-commerce transaction activities can't be ignored. How to assess and manage credit risk of e-commerce effectively has become an urgent problem. Therefore, the study research on credit assessment of SMEs in the e-commerce environment has practical significance and academic significance.Here in this paper, domestic and overseas studies about enterprises' credit evaluation are introduced. We hackle electronic commerce, credit, credit evaluation and other related concepts, and make an analysis of the enterprise credit evaluation model under existing e-commerce model. All of these revealed the necessity and feasibility of credit evaluation for small and medium enterprises in the electronic commerce environment.In this paper, we make some new attempts on the construction of index system, in terms of empowerment and the selection of evaluation methods. First, based on the existing small and medium enterprises credit evaluation index system, we combine the updating index on the electronic commerce website and discussions among experts to establish the final evaluation index system. Secondly, considering that the credit evaluation index should reflect the subjectivity of buyers and objectivity of sample data, we select order relation analysis method and entropy method to determine the index weight and improve the comprehensive index weight. Finally, considering the relations between each index, we choose the nonlinear weighted method to make a comprehensive evaluation to the website of the Alibaba sample enterprises. By combining theory and empirical methods we provide a new thinking way for e-commerce of small and medium enterprises credit evaluation. In addition, conclusions and future research directions are stated.
