Maintenanceand inventory management were supposed to be connected. However, they were considered and optimized independently right now in airlines from the view of operation mode and departments deployment. Currently, most literature focusing on models that study spare parts ordering and maintenance policies were mainly defined in single unit, or single failure mode. This paper extended these limits, and established joint optimization models considering multi identical operating parts that suffered single failure mode or multi failure modes. The main distinguishing characteristics of this paper are summarized as follow:Second, a condition-based order-replacement policy that based on Wiener process and ?s,S?spare provisioning policy was presented for a multi-units system, aiming to optimize the conditionbased maintenance and the spare order management jointly. Due to the complexity of model, a simulation model using Monte Carlo and genetic algorithm was developed to find the best decision variables of the policy. The case studies were given at last, showing the procedure of applying the proposed policies to optimizing the maintenance and spare ordering scheme of aero-engines in a fleets. The result demonstrated the joint optimization model outweighted traditional policies.Third, a new condition-based order-replacement policy was present to optimize a multi-unit system where parts suffered two types of failure modes, i.e. deterioration failure and random failure. In particular, this paper studied a competing failure model where the degradation process was one-dimensional Wiener process and the random failure was Weibull distributed. In advance, a new spare ordering policy was put forward, which could highly utilize information from CBM to decide most suitable ordering time. The model was applied to a case, explaining the detailed procedure and proving the efficiency of new spare ordering policy in saving inventory cost.At last, according to the researches shown above, a management system used to manage CBM policy and spare ordering policy jointly was developed. The software was verified and tested by specific data and cases.
