The paper focuses on improving the production efficiency of BBAC's GLK trim line. And by improving production efficiency while balancing the labor of the production line, the productivity is increased from 8JPH(8 cars per working station per hour) to 11JPH(11 cars per station per hour).This paper introduces the Lean Production theory, and the development history of Lean Six Sigma based on lean production as well as the related theories and tools,to improve the production line imbalance and production circle time, as well as the production purpose. The paper also combines trim line in assembly workshop of Beijing Benz Auto Corporation's practical efficiency improvement requirements, and analyses the whole production line based on the theory of Lean Six Sigma, especislly the EHPV/TE of which to discover the key point of improving the productivity with associated work sections and stations. And then comparing with 11 JPH we try to find out the key factors that restricts the productivity from a overall consideration of production line organization, materials management and procedure designs. And finally, the Lean Six Sigma tools are used to improve those key factors, solve the restrictions and improve the production efficiency, also confirm the application of the Lean Six Sigma in auto assembly line.Considering the fact that China's auto industry has general issues of mass waste and low efficiency, it is significant to popularizes the Lean Productrion and Six Sigma theories in both the auto manufacturing plants and parts manufacturing industries. The usage of those theories can help to reduce the production cost, improve production efficiency and greatly improve the competitiveness of Chinese auto industry. Therefore, the paper has certain guidance meanings in popularizing and implementing the Lean Six Sigma theory.The paper is based on practical case study of production efficiency improvement, which provides BBAC a set of solutions for waste decreasing, labor balancing and efficiency improvement. To conclude, the paper contributes positively on the lean management and high quality production of BBAC.
